Shadow Cat

Shadow Cat

Shadow Cat is a favorite because his eyes are directly set on the observer. He’s really a kind kitty looking for someone who will take him in and pet him on Halloween night. People can be very mean to pure black cats especially on All Hallows Eve, which is the day celebrated as Halloween.

Cats were worshipped in Egypt and valued in their artwork.  With Rome’s long history of mixing Roman and Egyptian cultures, cats became very popular to the citizens of Rome. Pope Gregory IX unable to brand all cats as taboo, chose the black cat as representing Satan. Cats are nocturnal with eyes that shine in the dark. The suspicion caught on and Black Cats are considered bad luck by many to this day.
